Rip-off of a spoof

Reno 911 = spoof of Cops
FTP = rip-off of Reno 911, only with limited material

Can we do anything original these days?

It also rips off the premise of Jasper Fforde's Jack Spratt novels such as "The Big Over Easy" and "The Fourth Bear". They are about police officers in England that work in a unit dealing with Nursery Crime. The first book deals with the murder of Humpty Dumpty and it is all approached as if it is a noir novel along the lines of Raymond Chandler or Dashiell Hammett.

This sounds eerily similar. Its like they ripped off two separate things and then combined them.

Well I just saw some Behind the Scenes thing for this where the director says he got the idea from... get this:

"I saw a bumper sticker on the back of a car that said, "Humpty Dumpty was PUSHED!"

So what happened here (if my obviously natural detective skills are right) is someone bought/made a bumper sticker inspired from that exact book you just mentioned... the director in turn is caught in traffic behind them, sees it, and is inspired to make this a short, not knowing the similarities he's treading in because he simply didn't know, or maybe it's another case of cryptomnesia. who knows? but here is FTP.
