Bobby "Blue" Bland

All I can say after watching this episode of UNSUNG is NICE JOB, TV One.

I'm not a die-hard blues fan but I respect the genre immensely. BB King and Bobby "Blue" Band has the blues on lock, you hear me? Both were and will always be absolute legends in the game and there will never be another presence like them. Period.

What BB did on the guitar, Mr. Bland did with his voice. Such emotion and raw soul he had. To be able to bring tears to the listener with one's voice is truly the mark of a REAL artist. Bobby Bland was a master storyteller and watching his story tonight reminded me of how some people are put here to gift the world with their journey and leave us with music to forever learn from and cherish.

May they both rest in peace.

Luv, you said it all.

This was a perfect Unsung. Bobby didn't fall into the pitfalls or reach great professional heights, but his music brought people to their highs and lows.

I was happy to hear that he was an around good guy, not a womanizer, and had great family. It was unfortunate that he missed out on an education, though.

'Let the Little Girl Dance' by Bobby Blue Bland , was the first R&B 45 record I played to death. I was a kid and my twenty-something aunts used to bring their records over because we had a new hi-fi. Never forgot him or the song. I hate that I missed the episode! 
