I think there's a press conference DiCillo gives in a film festival in Spain which touches upon this. I believe he said that, along with the remaining Doors, they decided not to include any post-Morrison information about the band since they all feel that once Morrison died, the "diamond" was broken and The Doors were no more. I agree with this notion.

reply

thats retarded that they didnt put any of that info in there. yes the diamond was broken, i agree, but that'd be the point in looking at the post morrison doors. they were still the doors.

Evan,

No. The death isn't dwelt upon, here.

Nothing at all, it says that he died and then it ends. Very disappointing, no new interviews with the surviving members either which also was a bit disappointing

Hopefully on the DVD as extras. Its a bit of a missed oppotunity here.

I'm getting the word 'Nonce'

mithril,

Tell me about it! The end left we all hanging, and I know members of the band are still living, Ray Mansarek for one. I felt like, "Bam, he died, goodbye and thanks for coming to see this film!!"

I just got the DVD in the mail and watched it last night. The only extras is an 8 minute interview with Jim's father and sister.

The only mention of what happened to the band after Jim died was in the narration that they have sold 80 million albums and continue to sell 1 million each year. No mention of Other Voices etc.

Oh, dear ... *sighs*

I'm not interested in this film then; the post-Morrison period is great.
I'm glad the OP asked the question.

sean4554,

Fair enough. But, I have a hunch still, that you won't be sorry that you saw the film .

Thanks for the response.
It would seem that the Morrison-period has long been examined enough. I find it hard to believe there's much of interest left, but yes I know I'm likely wrong! (I often am.) I'm just tired of how the last two albums, great as they are, keep getting ignored by just about everyone, including the artists who made them.

I just got Other Voices a few days ago and it's really great. So I'm also a bit disappointed that they didn't mentioned any post-Morrison stuff.
