The capacity of women to forgive... boundless.

After watching this (for the umpteenth time) I was again struck by Lady Carlisle and her immediate forgiveness and support of her husband who had only moments before accused her of infidelity and was having her committed to an insane asylum. Women, in particular, have a boundless capacity to forgive and stand by their man. Would a man have forgiven what he did? No. It just never ceases to amaze me how full of grace women can be in their capacity to forgive.
