Most underrated game :(

I always thought Red Faction was a terrible game. Everyone was telling me not to buy it since its crap since some other one of their friends told them who that friend from another friend from some online site from a small unknown source said its crap.

Well I bought it finally 2 weeks ago, could not put the game down. I played it everyday! I found it to be VERY unique to other games, so unique I was doing all the side missions before the main missions. The single player was just so much fun! and the multiplayer (if you can actually get a game going) is a great thrill! Just being able to destroy everything and run a car straight into an enemy bases barracks throw mines and make all these HUGE explosions with all this debri and people flying around with your allies rushing in helping you - more explosions with more buildings blowing up left and right... one word - perfect. Man and did I tell you about the weapons? Could write a book on this game..

Thank you THQ for making this game! Just completed it today :) can't wait till the expansion!

Agreed. My brother bought this game off of PSN last November, but I gotta admit, beforehand I did not think that this game was going to be all it was cracked up to be. I was wrong.

I finally forced myself to play this game last December, and I too could not put it down. I cleared the first two lands on the same night I first played, and did a lot of side missions to go with the main missions.

Right now, I have come damn close to beating the game so I will probably review it when I can. I think the reason this game is a little underrated on this site is because IMDb is more of a movie community rather than a video game one, although it is cool that we can comment on video games.

I knew it was going to be good and wanted to get it for the robots and laser weapons and because it was on mars.

But my God, I had no idea what I was about to see. It was the gaming experience of a lifetime, not even Red Dead Redemption is as fun or as compelling.

I didn't know much about the game, but after getting it, I played through and then had to start from the beginning again because of a power-cut that resulted in me losing my save, shortly after I had reached the safehouse in DUST. But this turned out to be not so bad, it's SO enjoyable.

It took me over a year to complete it because it was a free roam/sand box game. When exam-time rolled in, I had to put the game away in a cupboard so I would not spend precious "studying and preparation time" on it.

Then when school was over, I got back to it and started the new safe-house in EOS.

The day I completed the game at the final level, I decided it would be best not to play after that since the story was concluded, even though there was all this BS about bonus missions getting re-opened.

I am hoping to get Xbox live and play the Demons of the Badlands prequel. And also the sequel Armageddon, but I hear the company has disowned Redfaction and will not make anymore because Armageddon didn't sell good (it wasn't free roam) .

The driving was awful. Sometimes you have to drive from one end of a zone to another and I was literally falling asleep while playing. And at some points the game became so difficult I had to GASP! turn it to the easy setting. Other than that, it was very enjoyable. "Pass the controller" demolition is pretty fun too. Too bad it under performed.

I agree - this game is easily in my top 10 of all time. I finally played Mass Effect last year, and it reminded me so much of this game.
