How does one get from a hotel to a cargo ship in the middle of the sea?

Unless the Organization can play magic tricks or manipulate space and/or time, I'm just not understanding how at the end, the 7 survivors board a hotel elevator and then not a minute later, arrive on the boat in the middle of the sea.

Dimensional travel? Are they dreaming?

Granted, this show does take quite the creative liberties, but this particular scene seemed to hint at their being in some sort of simulation all along...such as a world which can be manipulated and/or changed at whim.

Maybe that's why no matter where they were at (marketplace in a small village in Italy or in their homes) there was always a camera on them at all times.

I know. It seems everywhere they went, there was a camera. Even in the middle of nowhere, where Charlie and Bill escaped to in the last episode.

My interpretation is that Janet's group fell asleep and were drugged. While they were out, they were moved to the ship which contained an exact replica of the rooms and hallway of the hotel. The level two group got into the elevator thinking it would open into the lobby and instead found out they were on a ship.

Of course, you'd think the "hotel" would have been swaying back and forth due to the rough weather we saw when they stepped on deck.

Large ships can be built with lighter materials on upper decks, so their centers of gravity are massed in the lower decks, which helps to stabilize them. Large ships also have actual "stabilizers" that can reduce or eliminate the perception of rolling or swaying.

neat . . . sweet . . . petite

I've been on some of the biggest ships in the world. Never been on one where, in those conditions, you could not know you were on a ship. Doesn't matter what deck you were on.

I'm willing to hand wave it for dramas sake but be real.

reply

Yeah that was just done for the drama to show both group of prisoners starting at same place but ending up in different areas.

It was terribly done though. There is no way in hell they can stabilize whole ship in such weather to not make the rooms sway even a bit. Not to mention, replicating same decor from town (on land) on the ship seems kinda pointless. Maybe the 'organization' just likes wasting money trying to be dramatic for no reasons..

Then again, these are the same people who needed a pointlessly large town everyone can spot on Google Maps, instead of a underground facility where they can control same experiments in much more controlled environment.

The original script was written by a filmmaker, that should tell you a lot about why it's so stupid from the start.

reply

Well, the people had all been drugged, so maybe they thought they were imagining the rooms swaying ;)

Plus, just like the military can block Google Maps from displaying top-secret locations, so the Mansfield Institute probably has something worked out (legally or not). Hell, they might own Google.

If they blocked something, that would invite even more attention.

Not to mention, they have to be REALLY powerful to stop every country on earth from spotting same town layout in different areas. So I guess they are Illuminati? (I mean I would believe it in a serial.. in real life I laugh at it..)

Here's a hint... The name of the boat is... almas perdidas
