The reviews and comments are way too harsh. This version, along with the 62 and 81 versions, will be remembered amongst the canon -- excellent direction of photography, and a new and unique twist on the novel. I enjoy all three adaptations. Go Go Triffids!

Do you think so? I'm not disparaging your opinion, it's your opinion. But I honestly disagree. The '81 version is so much superior to the 2009 version that I don't think people will ever watch the latter. Comparing the two versions the 09 has better graphics, but that is the only area in which it succeeds.

Triffids is a generally acknowledged classic, at least within the niche of apocalyptic SF. It should be treated with respect. It was treated with respect in the 1981 version. By contrast, the 2009 version belongs on the same trash pile as Bonekickers and early Torchwood.
