Magdalene sisters with boys

The Magdalene Sisters was an excellent film! Many compelling stories have been told from the settings of prisons and homes for "wayward" youth. They often make the most powerful statements about survival, redemption, individuality and camaraderie among the loss of freedom while at the mercy of a system that fosters an abuse of power. In the mainstream, The Shawshank Redemption (1994) was a powerful one in that way.

Actually, whilst watching this film I thought of the Magdalene sisters and that "lower classes" were probably treated equally appalling by most states across Europe.
