biggest career nosedive ever?

just last christmas after the gavin and stacey christmas special they were were the most well loved comedic actors in the country at that moment.along the way, their egos(especially cordens) have inflated so far beyond beleif.his tv appearences were cringing and unfunny.now they both tried to sell out with this crap of a programme.now look at them.theyre a complete joke.didnt they ever hear about sticking to what youre good at?

Comparing themselves to true comedians like M&W is an insult to their talent and memories. They made some great comedy over the years that many people still watch repeats of and talk about long after they sadly passed away. H&C will easily be forgotten after a while, in a few months, a year, who knows? But that's the trouble with untalented folk like them, they know that they can't generate a fan base on comedy alone so they whore themselves out on all sorts of chat shows trying to appeal to the lowest common denominator in an effort to get them to watch their $hit! Yup! British comedy has deteriorated a lot over the past few years and I can't figure out why that is, it's mad!!

Perfectly put. Especially this part:

"It's not that their careers have taken a nosedive, it's that their very slight talents have been cruelly exposed through a quick succession of over hyped tv appearances and branded sketch show & film. They have been sold to the public as a prized product, when in fact they are simply by-products of a popular tv show."

They're running before they can walk, too. Trying to emulate the success of Pegg and co, while forgetting that Spaced took a long time to build a big following for them, and that they made a film because they had a good idea and sold it really well, not just because they're the latest over-hyped hot comedy property.

I feel sorry for them, in a way. But I feel worse for Mitchell and Webb, who've toiled at the rock face and made some excellent sketch shows - and the best British sitcom around at the moment - but don't get half the attention these two seem to.

Instead of just waiting for their turn to speak.
