Classic case of britishness going on here.

Us Brits, oh how we love to build people up, just to tear them down the very next moment.

Granted 'Horne & Corden' Isn't the funniest sketch show in the world, but then again sketch shows by nature usually have weak parts, it is very hard to write 100% funny sketches every week, you try it some time.

There are however funny parts, and they seem to be growing on me, perhaps the belly is relied upon too much, but it takes balls to be that confident with a belly like that.

Even their film 'lesbian vampire killers' has been torn too shreds simply because these two were in it, the film itself was by no means the worst comedy to come out this year, and for the most part was enjoyable.

It just seems that us Brits love to see people fail.

Surely people have better things to do with their time than slate people on IMDB with the vague hope they will read it and consequently feel bad about themselves, of course if I was either Horne or Corden I would be reading these boards laughing my arse off, because lets face it the chances are their life right now most likely takes a nice big corn filled dump upon all those bitching the most. They hosted the Brit awards with Kylie for *beep* sake, hands up all those who have done anything even remotely as cool (or would even have the balls to attempt it).

Or it's just toss.

"They hosted the Brit awards with Kylie for *beep* sake, hands up all those who have done anything even remotely as cool (or would even have the balls to attempt it)."

Why would it take balls to attempt to host the Brit Awards with Kylie Minogue? Is my estimation of what bravery entails so out of whack?

If you could stand up in front of all those people, with a superstar and be funny without looking at all nervous, then you are a better man than I.

Well the difference is that they're actually performers as a career, albeit crap and irritating ones. Of course, if they were office workers or dog trainers thrust up on stage with a wad of lines then that would be a minor feat of bravery. The fact of the matter is, the widespread panning their sketch show has received has little to do with some innate British tendency to tear the best of us down, and more to with it being lazy, uninspired poo.

I think you underestimate your Britishness!

I'm afraid that isn't the case at all. They just churned out a dull and unoriginal sketch show that made few people laugh, so people mocked it for being crahp.

I'd forget the 'Britishness' psychology analysis. It's certainly a British trait to resent arrogance, and a trait of the British news press to be pointlessly vicious, cynical and plain lying.

But you can't confuse that with the reasons for not liking H&C. H&C was simply and evidently bohlocks.

Sorry to shatter the hypothesis but there it is...
