What was your opinion of the season 3 cast?

I sort of understood why they had to change things up as they were training for the Olympics now so things obviously had to be different. I never really clicked with any of the new additions though.

I never cared for Coach Mcintire. Although he was less annoying after his attitude adjustment. Although no one could really replace Sasha Belov. Jordan Randall was a poor man's Emily. I know they tried to fill the void by having a character that doesn't play by the rules, but she was just mostly a complete b-tch. It was really hard to feel sorry for her.

I did like the addition of Kelly Parker as a main character though. Nicole Anderson did a great job playing her. I also did warm up to Wendy Capshaw. She was so maniulative yet so cute and perky.

The main trio was always pretty good and it was the same here. Lauren really came a long way characterwise. Although I did sorta miss her backstabbing a bit. It was a smart move for her to finally come to her senses though. I think Payson was probably my favorite.

And I really don't like Austin Tucker. Even before his little stunt at the end, he got on my nerves.

"Has anyone seen my bucket of plutonium? It's about yay big and is super radioactive."

I didn't like any of the new characters either.

I loved the addition of Kelly as a main character but I was so pissed off when they basically got rid of her in place of Jordan. It was so stupid mainly because I hate Jordan but also because I think that Kelly was a far better gymnast.

I liked Coach McIntire but I really hated how he (like Sasha) tended to be very singularly focused on one girl. He barely ever focused on any of the girls other than Jordan just like Sasha only ever overly focused on Payson.

Jordan is like a poor man's Emily Kmetko and tbh I liked Emily better than Jordan and I didn't even like Emily so that's saying something. Jordan is only willing to “work” for it when everyone is bending to her demands and stroking her ego. The second she’s asked to do something she doesn’t want to do, she’s not interested. Someone with work ethic would EARN their place at the TC. Not expect it to be handed to them after they refused to complete a routine at tryouts, and then give a ridiculous guilt-tripping rant about how unfairly they’re treated. I was so sick of her attitude. She’s not a team player, and she’s so cocky and defiant that she’s also not coachable. I never understood why Coach McIntire continued to inexplicably favor her.

Wendy was a complete psychopath. I remember I never really cared when Jordan whined about the other girls not accepting her but I actually felt bad for Wendy that no one accepted her. But then she turned out to be the mole and was a pure psycho bitch and scared the ever loving *beep* out of me lol. I think Amanda Leighton is doing an awesome! Not many actresses could pull this character off and she’s acting as the perfect blend of sickeningly sweet and overly creepy lol.

There have been a couple of scenes where I had liked each character, but overall I was disappointed and felt like they were wasting scenes on all of these new characters instead of Lauren, Payson and Kaylie. Like legit, the season ended a couple of months ago and I still don’t get why I’m supposed to care about these new characters.

I did not like Coach Mcintire at all. I don't care how ridiculous and unrealistic it was, they should have had Sasha as the coach. It's a show! And Sasha's absence showed in every episode.

I appreciated the significance of Wendy and thought the actress did a good job with the part but still we spent waaaay too much time on her and Jordan. Who I detested.

I love KP. Pretty much all I have to say about that.

Season 3 Austin Tucker sucks. Season 2, pre-Kaylie Austin Tucker is charming and kind of funny.

I was disappointed with Payson's boyfriend storyline, but that might just be because I found Rigo annoying. Lauren's storyline was touching but also kind of ridiculous. *That's* her comeuppance for every bad thing she's ever done? A heart condition is scary but she never faced any real fallout from her friends, team mates, or her coaches. And barely any from Summer. Kaylie was actually my fave this season which is odd because usually when I ranked them she was third.

I didn't like Payson's boyfriend storyline either. I too did not like Rigo because he talks like he’s in some sort of informercial or like he’s giving one of those annoying inspirational talks. They were so fake and cheesy and ugh lol. But I was also pissed off because Season 3 Payson’s top priority was Rigo; not gymnastics.

I get that Payson is a teenager and six weeks feels like a lifetime and blah blah blah but she used to be so dedicated. And now she’s breaking curfew to go meet her bf. Totally serves her right for getting caught. And I can’t believe the NGO believe she is the workhorse of the team. Coach McIntire should know by now that she is not. Payson is so unfocused now. It’s like she realizes how close she is to the finish line (that being, making the Olympic team) that she figured it’s time to ease up on the gas pedal.

I also agree with your statement about Lauren. It was scary what happened to her and it was touching to see her help Kaylie to find out Wendy was the one who had drugged her but THAT should not have been her comeuppance. Stupid.

I can’t see the justification of putting Lauren on the team because she managed to not spike to a 5 on her first time running through routine. She’s a huge liability. I know that they wanted it to be like “OMG EVERYONE GOES TO THE OLYMPICS YAY!” but I would prefer to see a more realistic situation where she is an alternate or is left off the team and then tries for the 2016 Olympics.

Rigo was annoying because everything he said was either supposed to be funny and charming, or deep and inspirational. No one is like that all of the time. His character was over the top.

I totally agree with Payson losing focus. She spent all of season 2 recovering from what was almost a career ending injury and then meets a boy and that all goes out the window. Ugh. Her dedication to the sport and her unwavering passion (even at times when it got a little bit irritating) was what made me love her. She knows what she wants. She goes after it. Oh but this boy has curly hair and makes me laugh, so forget the Olympics! Again, ugh.

Yeah Payson really pissed me off in Season 3. I don't know what the writers were smoking when they wrote her character in Season 3. As well I hated her stupid Latin dance routine, it was horrble lol

Payson didn't do anything in season 3 to deserve backlash. If anything, She was the glue to the team and cared about everyone, even Lauren when She was dealing with Her heart condition. So shut your ugly mouth, and find something better to do.

I disagree with you, just because Payson snuck out that doesn't make Her any less dedicated. I am pretty sure after all the years of eating, sleeping, and breathing gymnastics She is entitled to one mistake. Payson has always been the one to step up to the plate and look out for Her teammates, and I hardly doubt She would have gotten as far as She did if She weren't dedicated. Don't throw all of Her accomplishments and positive attributes out of the window because of one mistake. If anything, Kaylie was the most boy crazy and focused on things other than gymnastics all three seasons. Are you forgetting that She abandoned Her team just because of drama with Lauren and couldn't even lead by example and support people She didn't like on a personal level unless Sasha told Her She had to? Kaylie was a weak leader, and could have gone without gymnastics, She said so Herself in season 1.

I didn't even like Emily, because I felt She was stale and one-dimensional, Lauren never had to face the consequences of Her actions, Jordan was......Jordan, and I began to like Kelly parker in the 3rd season after She redeemed Herself.

Overall Payson was the best gymnast, and the best role model, who truly deserved to be champion. There was nothing wrong with Her having a boyfriend, I liked Seeing a different side of Payson, so people need to stop saying She was less dedicated in season 3, because it's not true. In the end She was ranked higher than Kaylie and Lauren when the judges were deliberating in the final episode on the rankings board as well. She was number 3, Kaylie was 4, and Lauren was 5 before they threw Her name down. The team wouldn't have been the same without Payson, and She helped them all in many ways, and took responsibility for their hard ships while Kaylie allowed the team to fall apart. If anything, in season 3 Payson was more of the leader, and it's obvious She was highly respected at the rock and at the training center, despite not being number 1 after Her injury. Payson survived and suffered through a lot to get to were She is, so don't you dare Say She isn't dedicated.

They obviously got criticism that the show wasn't diverse enough, so in the first episode, they introduce a black coach, a black gymnast and a black boyfriend for Lauren. It was really obvious and really shoehorned in. And should be irritating to anyone. I thought the addition of Jordan was fine, the others seemed like a waste for a season that lasts only 8 episodes. Repetitive stuff with the coach and Sasha. They might as well have just brought back Marty. Lauren's new boyfriend was a complete afterthought, which is actually a good thing, with Rigo being forced down the audience's throat.
