DEPRESSING and the whole thing BACKFIRES!

VERY DEPRESSING. AND It leaves us with the feeling that The Amazing Mr. Hughes is a DICK! Also, after 2.5 years, they had no plan? It feels like they made everything up as they went a long and it shows. SO bummed.

Hughes wasn't a dick. He was a private man who didn't want to deal with douchebag fanboys who thought he was Jesus Christ and acted like a bunch of teenagers. The interviews were good, but not great. There could have been more. Where was Matthew Broderick? Molly Ringwald didn't even appear in the movie except for the MTV clips.

A disappointing movie. But I think many of these people are who try to track down their childhood/teenage heroes. How many people pissed off J.D. Salinger by coming to his door. The filmmakers were nothing more than narcissistic children.

They had no idea how to approach John Hughes tactfully and request an interview. I would've done the documentary by going to the place Hughes was born, trying to find teachers, co-workers and peers of his. This doc. was really poorly researched.

I agree. It feels like they were making it up as they went along and had no foresight! Please somebody get the "real good" stuff.
