Filming Locations?

I was just curious where they were filming in the Chicago area. Obviously I understand not releasing the private address of John's home (so that another documentary crew doesn't show up and request an interview with his family), but the general location of the house and maybe the pizza place?

News reports stated that John had retired to a farm in Illinois (http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE57569520090806), but his house certainly didn't look like a farm. It looked more like Northbrook or Winnetka. Someone else on this board accused the filmmakers of sending the FedEx package to themselves and that it wasn't even John Hughes house, but I dismissed it. However, how is it that there was info he lived on a farm and yet we see his residence as a gated house in the suburban area of Chicago?
