just saw the film poster

I live in japan as a university student. Me and my friends were at our local theater waiting in the lobby to go in for a screening of Where the Wild Things Are when i saw the poster for this movie. i never heard of it before, have no plans to see it, just thought i'd let the people here know a bit of what i noticed.

There has been no buzz about this film here at all. I barely caught the poster as it was in the corner somewhere (its bright pink so it did catch my eye a bit).

Oh, and the only recognizable non-japanese person, Emma Roberts, was not on the poster at all. I thought that was weird since it seems after seeing the IMDB page she is apperantly the main character or something. Hmm, whatever.

This to me had straight-to-dvd on it. Its even done Tokyo Drift style as most of the filming was done in california.

Majority of the filming has been done in Japan in Tokyo at a international school, Horikita Maki and others have written about it in their blogs.
Some filming was done in California but majority of it in Japan.
I've seen many reports of it in japanese news programs and there is more publicity now for the movie, for example in Cinema square v.29.
You have seen an odd poster because on the poster hanging around Tokyo is pink yes with Maki, Matsuken, Tegoshi and Anton on it.

reply

how is it an odd poster then, because my point was that Emma Roberts is not on it. so...i don't see your point, because you just repeated what i said.

Emma Roberts is not one of the leading or main character in the movie she only has a small part as Naomis old friend who has a crush on her (and kissed her),I don't know how much Hans and Gabrielle has decided to use that story in the script.
The 4 leading stars are Maki, Matsuken, Anto and Tegoshi so it's not odd that Emma is not on the poster.

If you don't know the story basically the summary is about a girl Naomi(Horikita Maki) who falls down the stairs while trying to save the schools expensive camera.
When she wakes up in the hospital she has forgotten the past 4 years of her life.
She does not remember her boyfriend Ace (Anton) and falls for a mysterious boy James (Kenichi) who sees her fall.
It's about Naomi rediscovering her life and learning new things about herself.
