Anything to do with a manga?

I have read a manga with a similar plot: BOKU WA KISU DE USO WO TSUKU. I'm not sure if this was an influence from the novel (I'm so sorry I really don't know much about the backstory of this movie) or if the manga was influenced by the novel.

I'm sorry for my lack of knowledge of this!

You can check out the manga here:

EDIT:

....I just realized I HAVE read this book but like two years ago.
I think the plots are just similar. I still want to watch this film but I need to reread the book.

No it is not based on a mnanga even though the title means somebody kissed me.
The movie is based on a young adult novel by author Gabrielle Zevin called memories of a teenage amnesiac. Even though the movie is set in Japan the books story is based in America.
This is from the author homepage:

If Naomi had picked tails, she would have won the coin toss. She wouldn't have had to go back for the yearbook camera, and she wouldn't have hit her head on the steps. She wouldn't have woken up in an ambulance with amnesia. She certainly would have remembered her boyfriend, Ace. She might even have remembered why she fell in love with him in the first place. She would understand why her best friend, Will, keeps calling her “Chief.” She'd know about her mom's new family. She'd know about her dad's fiancée. She never would have met James, the boy with the questionable past and the even fuzzier future, who tells her he once wanted to kiss her. She wouldn't have wanted to kiss him back.

But Naomi picked heads.

Like I said, this movie was based off a book I read that I forgot about. Thanks but I already knew that ;)

OT But I thought the book was amazing and wondered how it would be if it were a movie. This was when the book just came out. And then I read other books and forgot about it so when this movie came out, I didn't really realize that this was based off the book because of its being done in the Japanese film industry.
