WHAT. THE. HECK.

I saw a fan page for this on Facebook, and flipped that there was going to be a Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac movie, because it's one of my absolute FAVORITE books. But I got to poking around and discovered that A) They seem to have left out Will, who is my FAVORITE character, and B) It seems to have been made in Japan?

I'm irrationally upset over this. *sigh*

Is there any chance of it being made into an American, or at least English-language film?

Never apologize for being a nerd. NEVER.

Nope, it looks like whenever it is released in the US, it will be in Japanese with English subtitles.

Up your ziggy with a wa wa brush!!

Although I haven't actually seen the movie yet, what I can assume from

A: the trailer
B: I recall Gabrielle Zevin mentioning it on her blog

is that Will hasn't been cut. He's merely been remained Mirai Hasegawa to reflect his portrayal by the Japanese actor Yuuya Tegoshi (by the way who I am very excited about! Will is my favorite character and Tegoshi is one of the most adorable actors =])

Also, it isn't ENTIRELY in Japanese there will be English portions.

the movie is in English with English subtitles for the Japanese parts. It feels very "American" as a movie. I think you will like it but not as much as the book as there is no Will character. I haven't read the book though. I like Maki a lot so i thought this movie might be good, and there are good things about it. Definitely worth a watch! Enjoy.
