Just awful

I love asian films
I think anton yelchin is great
And I absolutely loved the director's previous film "conversations with other woman".

Having said that, I hated this film. I had to turn it off after an hour or so, it was just so boring and uneventful. Maybe I wasn't in the right mood or something but I didn't see one positive thing about this film.

Agreed.

This feels like an American teen romance more than a Japanese one, and it helped me to remember why I generally hated American teen romances so much (back in the day when I used to watch them). The random intrusions of insanely loud “trendy” music are really annoying. Also, the protagonist was a total bitch. (She treats her current boyfriend like dirt and doesn’t even bother to understand why she was dating him in the first place. Then she starts making out with another guy the next day. Then she starts feeling interested in a third guy the day after that. I felt like punching her in the face.) The script is totally vapid, yet has a pretentious aura because it thinks that it’s more deep and insightful than it actually is. There’s little chemistry between the characters, and the premise runs out of gas during the first 30 minutes. This is just total crap.

I need to rewatch Halfway (2009) or Josee, the Tiger, and the Fish (2003) to get this outta my head.

Great, I was on the fence about watching this but now I can be sure not to!
