My Dear Enemy is no classic, but it has class

I caught this film in an advanced screening at Fantasia Film Festival in Montreal and was surprised by how it made the fest's cut (as the festival is known for more risky and gory genre films). Rather, I was treated to a nice little film. Not much happens and it could easily have been a snore, but somehow the characters drew me in and I never felt my lids drop. A good surprise.

Nicely done, thanks.

I found this to be a great film - quiet but compelling. The male lead has a raffish attraction about himself, but to me the film stood on the wonderful performance of Do-yeon Jeon. So often she drove the plot changes by just slightly changing her facial expression; the movement of her mouth, or the furrowing of a brow - the way her muscles could move so slightly and yet convey such content was like the way a very slight breeze suddenly blowing across the surface of a lake can signify a significant change in atmosphere. It is a film remarkable for its quiet development and well worthy of appreciation.
