Did they die? (Spoilers)

So did they die on the raft? They had no water left and it seemed like a suicide mission. Henry even gave up some of his most cherished belongings, like the photos of his wife, so it doesn't seem like he planned on 'making it' despite what she wrote in the book. Unless by making they mean looking at a pretty sunset ;)
