Did they die at the end?
I'm pretty sure nobody can survive like that, so was their deaths being foreshadowed by Maisie's dad's story and also about her talking about people dying when nobody's looking, etc.?
shareIf a tree falls in the forest.. The biggest disappointment are the totally pointless waves of suicides, such as in Rogue One (2016).
The idea of (self) sacrifice is noble and all that, can be powerful when done in a certain way.. For example, in Deep Impact (1998), Téa Leoni's character can almost get away with hers - however stupid it may seem after viewing.
Other times, though.. All we can do is facepalm. :))
