I just recently watched Gainsbourg and enjoyed it very much and wondered if there are similar movies that people could recommend.
I have seen some other biopics such as La Vie En Rose or Walk The Line, and although I did enjoyed these movies they seem much more serious. With Gainsbourg although it was serious it had a different spin on it and showed some highs in his life like relationships with women, creating music etc.

I know it's based on a comic book but it is still his life even if it's not 100% fact but then what biopic is. I have seen scott pilgrim but wouldn't really compare it to this, and I didn't really enjoy that movie. But thanks anyway.
shareSex and Drugs and Rock n Roll - the biopic of Ian Dury - is very similar, with magical theatricality throughout, and an anti-hero genius artist who suffered as a child and grows up to neglect his family responsibilities.

I found Gainsbourg to be resemblant of Jim Morrison in some ways. If you haven't seen The Doors biopic, The Doors, yet. I'd definitely recommend that one!
