Pretty good until the end..l

I know, right. I don't know who was still alive, as they were only talking about Brad, but when Laurie started hitting him, he was holding Sharon, so would she not have been dead, too? I mean what happened after Laurie did that? It was very confusing. Also, did Laurie just go crazy, or was she just bad from the beginning, because he mentioned that thing about what she did to the cats. And a normal person doesn't just bite the head off a rat. I mean what did the family & people think happened to Brad? Because when the preacher was talking, he made it sound like they hadn't recovered Brad's body?

Also, after they did the thing with Laurie, and she was in on it, too, when they were going to get the others, what did Brad mean, "It's all gone"?
