Righto, here's the synopsis.
3 people.
Daniel, Ray & Tia.
I believe that Tia is married to Ray, but is getting a bit on the side from Daniel, a hot superstar (pop singer?)
Ray's the producer/best friend.
HEAPS of drugs involved.
Ray snorts/takes/whatever some drugs, and passes out after a fight with Daniel at Daniel's home.
He wakes up, and finds himself in jail, and then is taken to K-11, a section in the jail run by Johnson (the gay, pressuring guard/super intendent) and Miss Nava, a nice, and sweet woman whom is appreciated by the inmates in K-11.
Ray believes that he's in jail for drugs, and isn't told of the real reason why he's in jail.
He meets Butterfly (a sweet, schizophrenic 19 yr old boy whom believes he's a girl...I'm a bit confused with how Butterfly's going to portrayed, but I do know that Kristen Stewart is playing Butterfly.), Mousie/Mousey [scriptwriters keep changing the spelling through the script] (the 'woman' of K-11. Ruler. Dictator. Manipulative Bitch :D I'm pretty sure that's Nikki Reed's character), David (Mousie's husband (?) & Crystal (David's *beep*-buddy when Mousie's not around.)
There's also Granny, Jackhammer, Detroit and various other characters that make up K-11.
Basically it's told through Ray's eyes on how he got into jail and how he's coping.
He goes through withdrawls, which Butterfly helps him with. Then in return, he helps her/him cope when Detroit (a child molestor & rapist) decides that Butterfly is 'his'.
Ray struggles to comprehend WHY he's actually in K-11, and his answers are finally given to him when he sees a newscast on TV in one of the jail rec rooms.
Bascially:
this movie is full of sex, drugs, bloody, sweat & tears.
Jules Stewart writes a bloody good script :P

Thanks for the synopsis. It'll be really interesting to see how the character of Butterfly is portrayed, especially since it's a female actress playing a guy who thinks he's a girl. Haha, confusing.

shareI don't doubt that the script is good, but it having Kristen Stewart in it makes it VERY unappealing! If her mom wasn't directing it, I REALLY doubt that she would have gotten the role. So far, everything that I have seen her in is very monotone. She is not a good actress. People think that she's very "edgy" because she puts off that "I don't give a sh*t" attitude... she's not edgy, she just sucks at acting. Now I'm sure this will upset some of her twi-hard fans, but when you grow up and watch her Twilight movies again, you'll understand what I'm saying.

Well I got side tracked... I'm really not sure how well it can be adapted to the screen... I'm sure it's fine on paper, but I'm not so sure it will be very good as a movie.
To be honest, Kristen was a good actress - in Panic Room.
It's funny to see someone become a worse actor/actress after growing up, instead of improving.

I have to agree with broadwaygirl on pretty much everything. Everyone needs to chill out and this movie DOES in fact sound retarded. on paper, to hear about it. Seeing it though? maybe it IS good. nobody said it IS retarded, we just said it SOUNDS retarded. And if y'all are getting bent outta shape about the use of the word retarded then my lord! gimme a break, retarded is just a word, it doesnt make the anyone immature or stupid or whatever, just a word. Mewes was on various drugs for years and Smith kept trying to get him clean. He made life living hell for everyone around him. But he's been clean for like six or seven years now finally.

I am amazed that this movie is happening. I am autistic and trans... not much of a Twilight fan but to each their own. I am interested to see how this goes. I'm also someone grossly offended by the word "retarded" being used as a perjorative. It is ablist and along the lines of referring to something as "gay" while not actually intending to make comment about sexuality or gaiety.
I am hesitant to read the synopsis because of the spoiler bar thing all over it. Does it actually give away the entire plot or does it just explain the concept? I'm curious but I don't like having movies spoiled for me.
