transgendered women in this film. it seems the only way a transgendered person can get any screen time (or praise from show-biz phonies like Lady Gaga) is if she transitions into a kardashian sister.

I just saw this the other night and I have to agree- it seemed to me it was almost more of a platform for the female lead (Kate de Castillo - not sure if I got her name right), to show what a killer body she had and what a badass she was. If it was a man it would have meant something. This almost seemed like if you added a few songs it could have been Transgender Jail: The Musical. I don't know if you have ever seen the movie Jailbait, i think it's from the early 2000's, but i think it was wayyyy more authentic (it didn't address transgender and was much more focused- it was a two-character movie that simply addressed a non-consensual relationship between two inmates), but it was painfully authentic and intense.
