Switching languages

Why do some of the Indian characters switch between speaking Hindi and English so frequently, in the same conservation, sometimes even in the same sentence? Do bi-lingual speakers often do this?

Very much so. Indians do that without thinking, both in India and the US.

That's how we Urban Indians speak.
Its almost natural for us, we do it without realizing.
