This is the new 'Jesus of nazareth'

Like jesus of nazareth and AD Anno domini this is a new great historical mini series which is about religion and the life and works of the great saint augustine who lived in hippo in north africa during the late fourth and early 5th centuries AD.
I Saw this 2 weeks ago on television and i was excited as for the first time we get to see the life of augustine in a such beautiful way and for the first time we get to see historical figures like VALENTINIAN II, GENSERIC and the romanised barbarian general BAUTO who was the first of it's kind in a declining roman empire.
If u like this kind of series don't miss this one and i hope we have this soon on DVD.

It does give a rather operatic version of the life and times of Augustine, with many fictionalized events. But the heart of it is preserved, with very strong performances by the actors portraying Augustine --three of them--Monica, and Ambrose, and as well the very beautiful actress who plays his concubine. The actors dubbing their voices in the new dvd, the dubbing itself are exceptional. In the shorter version, the subplot involving "Augustine’s Niece and a young soldier is mostly deleted, which adds, but some good bridge scenes are also cut in the interest of brevity.
