Marriage proposal

"Let me think about it"? I understand it was scripted for dramatic purposes but I don't see him or any other guy for that matter, who gets such a response, asking a second time. It's a painful answer to hear so why take the chance on being hurt again, no matter how much you love her? I didn't much care for the way the writers had him press for an answer so many times and then finally asking a second time. Realizing it was a mistake not to say yes originally, she broached the subject again. But instead of apologizing for her initial response and telling him she would love to marry him, she dances around the subject and the writers have him propose again. I guess the writers, knowing this was a movie more for women, decided it wasn't inappropriate for her to appear too conciliatory.
