Why cast Oprah?

I think Oprah has no business anywhere else than in her own show, which only losers watch.

She's obsessed with race-based propaganda, so it's a perfect match.

reply

Propaganda?!

reply

I was wondering about this same idea as a plausible explanation, actually..

If there's one thing this movie does prove, it's that the lady can act. She's very convincing as Gloria.🐭

reply

With respect, it proves no such thing. That was taken care of decades ago by The Color Purple.

reply

Oprah Winfrey is superb in this....much better than Forrest Whitaker.

She was an Oscar nominated actress decades before this movie...

I almost cried watcher her pretend to peel a potatoe she obviously never did so in her life!

reply

HAHA! I noticed that too.

reply

Holy Dan Quayle..

reply

She's an actress. Didn't you see The Color Purple?

Whoopi Goldberg is another actress who is on a talk show.

What's your problem with black actresses?

reply

I am not an Oprah fan, but she is a great actress and was very good as Gloria!

reply

I lol at the part when u said Oprah crying cu she might've never peeled potatoes hahaha but keep in mind she came from being poor

reply

She's believable in her casted roles. I wasn't thinking "oh my God, it's Oprah". Awfully good. And it's true she is very interested in all things Black American, that's ok. Lets face it, our country has "shamed" many a fellow American at some time in our history: Irish, Germans, Italians, Japanese, Chinese, so I'd rather have someone who would be proud of where they came from than accept the cloak of shame. It's all right, it really is. Another celeb I thoroughly enjoyed in his acting roles was Frank Sinatra.
