Anyone seen it yet?

I know it hasn't opened wide yet, but just a single review? And the board is dead! I figured there'd be a slight bit of buzz just because it was Brittany Murphy's last film.

I went to see Oculus tonight and saw that it was playing at the theater, but didn't realize what it was until after I went inside and saw a large poster with "Brittany Murphy" billed on it. Then it clicked, and I remembered that "Something Wicked" was the name of her final film. The poster is great though, and piqued my interest for sure. I heard the movie was filmed in Eugene, Oregon, and I've lived in Portland my whole life so it's neat to see something filmed close by. Now after reading a bit, I can see that the film is currently only playing in the Pacific Northwest, but I'm kinda shocked nobody from these parts has come onto IMDb yet to voice their opinions. I guess this film got zero PR? Anywho, I'm thinking about going to see it tomorrow night.

I hope you went to see it. I live in Brazil and as a fan of Brittany's work, I can't wait to see this. That one review made me very excited to watch it and I hoping for it to actually live up to it.

I did see it tonight. I really enjoyed it, but don't have unrealistic expectations. It is a B-horror movie through and through, albeit a really well-done one. Brittany was wonderful in it.

I'm glad you liked it! Hopefully it will soon get released across the country and then worldwide so I can watch it, or at least on demand or something haha

Yeah, that'd be nice if it opened around the US, but I somehow doubt it will. It had no marketing and I don't think it's been making much at the box office. I saw it on a Sunday night at a 10:30pm showing and was the only one there. I just don't think people have heard about it, and this board seems to be indicative of that. That said, I did go see "Under the Skin" today and there was an older man in front of me who went to see "Something Wicked", so I guess SOME people are seeing it; I just presume not many. I plan on catching it one last time on Thursday before it leaves the theater; partially because it's an indie horror so it's an underdog, and the fact that it's playing at a Regal Cinema is a big deal so I feel obligated to show my support; and secondly, just because I thought it was really enjoyable. It's not a profound film by any means, but it's quite entertaining.

I just checked the website for the film, and it looks like it's expanding to some other cities tomorrow, so maybe there will be more traffic on this board after that. I'm a bit surprised more people aren't on here, as the Pacific Northwest has a pretty big film culture, especially in cities like Seattle and Portland (where I'm from). It's leaving the theater tomorrow, so I went one last time tonight to check it out and brought a couple of friends. We're all into slasher flicks and B-horror so it was entirely enjoyable for our tastes.

Unfortunately never made it to Los Angeles. :( I was really looking forward to seeing it, being a huge Brittany fan. The PR people said it would have an L.A release in May or June, but so far nothing. I have a feeling you guys in Oregon, and some little theatre in Idaho were the only ones to see it on the big screen. At this point, all I hope is that it will make it to DVD.
