Just scratches a 4

Somewhat reminiscent of the older low budget movies when VHS was the medium and first person point of view for the monster was in fashion to fit in your budget. This is all great, but occasionally you do need to give the viewer something or you lose your audience before the end of the first act, which is basically where this film falls flat. Whilst the overall ability of the actors is reasonable based on what they have done in the past, the script doesn't allow for any performance to shine through. Rather, it bumbles along in a confused fashion leaving the audience in the dark until the beginning of the third act when everything rises from the murky depths and becomes clear. It's a shame really as the idea is really quite good, and the cast more than capable of pulling it off regardless of the budget. So I blame the lousy director - sorry Nick.
