Epic

This was truly awesome.
Part 2 was a lot better than part 1 imo.

Goes in to my shelf next to the best of historical fiction.
Braveheart, Kingdom of Heaven, Gladiator etc.

Agreed. Part II impressed me, more so than the first film.

How dare you? You should know imdb forums is only used for hating a film, not praising it.

Kidding of course, but it's kind of sad how this was the only positive thread I saw when scanning the pages(one more than I usually see). That's pretty much the internet in general though, not just imdb. Glad you also enjoyed the movie, I thought the scene with the arrow gathering/fake betrayal was genius.

If you nailed jesus christ to the cross and are 100% proud of it, put this in your signature.

Epic indeed. I was knocked off my ass. Far exceeded my expectations for several reasons:
1. I thought John Woo was finished. I hadn't seen anything I liked from him in years.
2. It is hard to film Romance of the Three Kingdoms so that any portions of it taken separately can make any sense at all. Even people who have not studied the book can enjoy the movie, although it is much easier if you know something of the characters.
3. All phases of production were grade A. Directing, cinematography, acting, battle action scenes, script and music. I was expecting maybe three of those.

Sorry the Chinese didn't like it, but they certainly went back to see it over and over. It's one of the biggest movies in history.

You're posting in the wrong topic. No one is generalizing here.
