Is this movie sad to watch? (Showing animals suffering / dying)

This sounds like a good movie but how hard is it to watch? Does it show dead animals or ones dying? Overly painful stories of animals deaths?

I wish I could offer you an answer, but I came here myself looking for it too.
So I guess this is a *bump* for this thread in hopes of getting one.

I got a bit of a heads up from a kind person.
Here is what she said:

"I don't think it shows dead animals, it does show deceased on the house or writing on the wall, those are the ones the rescue people couldn't get to in times, you might want to skip until after they cover the Hurricane Katrina stuff though if you don't want to see that stuff and get to the part where they are covering the shelters/original owner/adoptive owner stories"

This movie shows:

*One dead animal (That I can recall) - though they didn't show the entire animal, just a part of it.
*Sick, scared and stressed animals as they were being rescued.
*A number of animals that were starving -- walking skeletons.
*Some animals that had obviously been abused before Kartina hit (e.g. pit bulls with scars on their faces, obviously had been used in fights.)

I hope that helps.

Anyone who loves dogs should see this movie. It's a different take on Katrina and you really see the heart behind the disaster. Being a dog owner, I couldn't even imagine what those poor people went through trying to get their dogs back. Thank God this disaster changed the law about pets and rescue situations.

I am a really sensitive person when I watch documentaries on animals or children so I understand your concern. I cried a lot throughout the film - not just about animals just thinking about what happened to everyone during Katrina.
Near the end you'll start to see some joy and have good tears. If you are interested and want to watch it I would definitely say watch it.

When they had showed the dead animal, i was taken aback. I had to rewind to make sure i saw what i did. Its very brief. I was also sad for the starving footage of one black dog looking like a skeleton.

There are some sad parts, telling it like it was. But overall it's positive, and it said that changes have been made so in the future pets will NOT be so apt to be turned away at shelters.

It does not show dead animals, but it shows animals that are frightened and confused, which I find very hard to watch.
