Any other people familiar with Jacqueline Wilson think that the girl who played Pearl (Sylvia Hodgson) looked and sounded a little like a young Dani Harmer? (Tracy Beaker)

reply

yes! i thought it was just me being weird , i always think people look like other people , but she really did!

reply

Ha! So it wasn't just me, then!

Yes, even though April overreacted and shouldn't have done it, you kind of felt Pearl had it coming to her when April pushed her down the stairs. Bullies push you over the edge sometimes, you can't help but react when that happens, especially when you're young. Great performances all round, an excellent drama.

You don't wish that on anyone, but it's difficult to explain the reasoning behind such an act out of context to anyone else. You can tell April found it hard to justify within the cold hard facts of the incident, but within what she was being subjected to, anything was possible.

Was I the only person who was annoyed by the way she was treating April (the character, not the actress)? Most of the stuff she did was really cruel.
She was a little monster, wasn't she!

reply

Yes, and even though I read the book recently, and I knew what was gonna happen, I was soooo thrilled when she flew down the stairs.
