Did they steal this from Scream 3?

Terrible movie.

Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by rulers as useful.

Steal =/= Still

atheist =/= agnostic

idiot =/= skeptic

Blind belief that there is no God is just as bad as blind belief in the spaghetti monster

I saw Scream 3 a while back and don't remember a DANG thing about it - it was forgettable bigtime.

This movie was much better. And others effectively chastized your horrible grammar.

One comment about religion and you being an "uber cool cyberspace atheist" (there seems to be so many of those bothersome twits in cyberspace - in real life? very few - churches are full and the God business is good)

Anyway, thinking that most if not all religion a) is *beep* and/or b) ultimately does more harm than good - well that may be true - even a viable viewpoint.

But it DOESN'T prove or disprove God. In fact it does nothing of the sort.

Throwing out God with religion is like throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

But I don't want to get into a long protracted religious argument with the staunchly religious or the staunchly atheists.

You should seperate your signature clearly from your posts. I see people addressing it more than this actual topic. Although I think it's quite obvious that's your signature as it has nothing to do with this topic...So people please talk about this topic and not the signsture.

As for your question...I think it's possible. Very much possible. The killer's motivation is so much alike, as is the ending's setting with him killing a father. But the story's execusion and the killer himself is entirely different, so it could well be just a coinsidense, or maybe a story inspired by Scream 3.

Actually, this movie does have a lot in common with "Scream 3" with the whole illegitimate half brother/killer seeking revenge. I couldn't help but think about that during the whole last act of the movie.

The idea of a killer who makes people choose between two fairly equal fates is a good one, it's just the script lets the whole thing down in the end.
