couple of questions, plz help !!!

The movie sucked, no doubt. The start looked promising but then it all went downtown. Just had few doubts:

1. How was her father the bad guy ? I didn't understand that explanation he gave about her father offering choice to her mother between the boy and the gal.

2. When that guy took her in the van, at the very end, he remarked "I forgot to tell you how much you remind me of your mother".
how does he know her or her mother ??

Thanks in advance. :)

1. In Nathan's mind, her father was the bad guy because he chose Fiona over him And since Nathan was obviously demented, it makes perfect sense...at least in this complete mess of a story! lol

2. The creepy motel guy was Nathan's father, and that's how he knew the mother. Remember when Nathan said that he was conceived in that very room? Now they never explained why the mother was in the hotel room while Fiona's dad was away at the academy (just one of many plot holes). Fiona freaks out at the end because she realizes that he's Nathan's father, and she's in TROUBLE.

Yeah, that explains it. Thanks a lot. :)

So when the killer took her from the asylum he brought her to the hotel? whicj is why the creepy man in the truck pulled up?

My goodness, what's with all the hate of this movie on IMDb here? You answer the other bloke's questions satisfactorily but still have to take a pot shot at the movie?

I personally thought this movie was a pretty nifty relatively solid little thriller with a cool punch to the ending.

Now they never explained why the mother was in the hotel room while Fiona's dad was away at the academy (just one of many plot holes).

How the HECK is that a plothole? It's just not a fully spoonfed part of the story. Hubby's away, wife may go somewhere. We don't need to know why, what for, etc.

I've watched many movies where I would've preferred more points more fully explained. But strangely I didn't find that necessary in this movie. It did a darn good job with the important stuff, IMO.

Actually I almost stopped reading your post after that. Doubt buddy. I actually DID quite enjoy the movie and being in agreement with the IMDb posters never meant a rat's a* to me.

But andyposton below seemed to explain your queries satisfactorily below.

It was a crap movie.

I never normally rate a movie as "1" on the IMDB scale. I reserve that for the absolutely worst movies imaginable.

This was in that category.

But I am glad one person liked it.

Seriously. He already got his revenge against his mother.

It's not like she had a 5 year old kid when they met and he said "I'm not raising that child, get rid of him or we're through."

There are two options:

1. It was the child of a guy she willingly had an affair with. Why would he want to raise a child that's a constant reminder of his wife's infidelity?

2. It was the child of a guy who raped his wife. Why would he want to raise a child that's a constant reminder of his wife's rape?

If it was a consensual affair, why didn't his father take him in? Clearly he hasn't killed his father out of revenge for abandoning him since he's there at the end. If it was a rape, did the guy already go to prison and do his time or did he get away with it for the past 2 decades even though he's still hanging around town at the place where he raped at least one woman?

If only the mother got an abortion 20+ years ago. That would've been a choice that would've saved a lot of people a lot of trouble.
