something i dont understand

what happened between the father at the start of the movie and the killer. when the cops were watching the killers interview and realised who he was, they went through all the victims and said wot happened. but with the father from the start, i think they said "thats when it really went bad."
but they didnt say wot happened. im halfway through the film so unless it explains at the end, then i have no clue wot went down between them.

When Fiona discovered the info about the Milburn Juvenile Detention Center online and it talked about allegations of abuse, it showed a picture of the father from the beginning--he had worked at Milburn, and must have been one of the abusers.

They could have made it clearer than they did, but I realized it was a picture of the father from the start right away because that actor reminded me a lot of Bill Pullman.

I thought he was a lawyer who represented the facility in the matter and tried to cover it up.

I wondered myself why people would come here in the middle of the movie. I usually at least wait until the end to see if they address my questions before coming here. :)

Well, I kind of remember a scene where the police are going over the victims and they show his picture and I THOUGHT one of them said he was a lawyer and when the facility was identified (later) something was said about him having represented the facility in a lawsuit against it (I THINK they said that one or maybe it was implied he handled ALL of their legal issues).

From what I recall he seemed to have a pretty nice house and a home office so I don't think he was a guard or anything like that. He MIGHT have been another doctor or something.

I WOULD watch it again and check but Netflix is set to dump it sometime this month (the only reason I watched it when I did) and I don't think it's really worth another look.

I might try wikipedia or something. :)

he was indeed the lawyer who got the facility off the hook. the news report about that murder mentions it

"the victim wss 57 year old defence attorney Elliot Vincent... the victim was best known for his role in the highly publicised Wilshire Barrett case. That case involved alleged sexual abuse in several state-run correctional facilities throughout the county"
