Children's 'Hopsital' Are you kidding me?

So what is this show actually called. Why does the IMDb call it "Hopsital" when everyone else insists it's actually "Hospital." Has the IMBb been hacked? What's the deal?

reply

Looks like it's just a typo. The main page still shows it as "...Hospital".

reply

more importantly...it's Childrens' Hospital....not Children's Hospital

this is a serious non issue

reply

Grammatically it should be Children's Hospital. Looking at the cover of the boxed set they do not use an apostrophe though.

reply

yeah it's pretty poor when i can't make a search work because IMDb can't spell.

reply

No it shouldn't. The name of the hospital comes from the name of the founder, Arthur Childrens, not due to the fact that it is a hospital for children. Therefore, 'Childrens Hospital'.

reply

Not necessarily. If it's a possession of Mr. Childrens it should be Childrens' Hospital. If the Childrens is just a description, then Childrens Hospital is correct. Like if Mr. Childrens bought Yankee Stadium and renamed it, it would be Childrens Stadium.

So I'd say it's correct as is.

reply

I'm fairly certain that IMDB until a few weeks ago had the title as "Childrens' Hospital". I suspect someone tried to fix it, but ended up somehow making a type in "Hospital".

reply

I justy clicked back to the board and it had hopsital, and i went looking all over the title page and came back to the board and it's hospital
odd, must be sunday arvo update time

reply

Nope, it's Childrens Hospital because it's named after the family that founded it, Childrens. So it's a children's hospital named Childrens Hospital.

reply

Actually it is spelled "Childrens Hospital", with NO apostrophe. Even the title card says it.

reply

Correct, NO apostrophe. The Hospital is named after Derrick Childrens, the founder of Childrens Hospital.

reply

When I searched Childrens Hospital, I got two obscure 2002 and 1997 shows. Finally, I had to get here through Rob Corddry's imdb page.

How can you tell if someone's a compulsive liar? I mean, assuming their pants aren't on fire?

It would be Children's, as in named after one person.

reply

Unless that one person's name is "Childrens"

reply

Arthur Childrens

Can we make this quick? I need to give a banana to Annie's Boobs.

reply

it would be childrens hospital. such as, john hopkins hospital, etc...

There's a certain magic that makes you wonder how humans ever accomplished anything great or worthwhile and makes you wonder why we've lasted this long as a species. This thread has that magic.

Americans spell hospital hopsital, but they pronounce it hospital.

Just like they spell marsian martian, but pronounce it marsipan.

And colour is liquor, i think.
