And The Last Supper is just a painting. And Romeo and Juliet or the Bible are just books. You can get over them, or realise that they have had important cultural signifigance.
As a kid, I was touched by Star Wars. And, like many of the people in this doco, I was pissed that Lucas broke the universe he created in the 90s/early 00s. Now, I realise that it is likely the most influencial film(s) of our generation and history will judge it up their classic films and pieces of art.
But, as you say, it is just a movie.
Star Wars is RUINED! I'll never be eable to watch the sensibly identical remasters of the movies George Lucas made now that some unincidental elements have changed in them. That man should be ashamed of himself for creating entertaining and fun movies AND THEN changing them ever so slightly. How dare he fiddle with the object of our compulsive and unhealthy obsessions?

*Reality check* You were a kid when you saw the OT which is why you ignored the flaws. Then you saw the PT as an adult and bitched. You suffer from nostalgia blindness. The only common denominator is the critics, which ripped both trilogies when released, the OT getting the worse of the two.

Tell it to Lucas. He's the one who let Star Wars take over his life, and can't leave them alone.
