Holy crap the beta feminine male acting in thie series

Started to watch it again after 10 years, finished with the third part. And it's cringy how beta and "needy"-like Edward and Jacob have been made to look here. I mean every sane girl should feel weird around guys who every second try to emphasize how much they would give up their life for you, be with you, do ANYTHING.

It's just surreal and unreal. Usually you find guys like that in high school who have never had a relationship and they have this mental affection towards some hypothetical dream girl they tend to love forever (in a needy way). It's just pathetic and cheap, as well as vomit-inducing.

Be a man. Act like a man for once lol. Try to show your manlier side, too. Don't be this little puppy sadface all the time.

Um ... they're teenagers.

? Edward is like over 100 years old. He's seen life, been through every situation. Still acting like a emo crybaby boy.

It's just how Stephenie Meyer visioned her dream boy(s) would be when she was younger.

The vampires are forever frozen in the state/age they were in when transformed into vampires. So, Edward is 17 forever.

I'm not sure that's the case with them in this particular universe. I read they mature, just don't age. And it's obvious Edward has the grasp of knowledge and vocabulary not normal to your average teenager. He's matured.

Again, Stephenie Meyer built these guys according to her own dream fantasy.

It is mentioned in the books that the vampires are forever frozen in the moment they were transformed. It takes a strong emotion to bring about a shift of 'emotional/mental/spiritual growth' and that moment was when Edward fell in love with Bella.

Edward was turned during a time when teenagers were far more mature than they are today. Back then teenagers had more responsibility than they do today. They were more adult than the teenagers of today.

Have you read the partial draft of Midnight Sun? It's is the first twelve chapters of Twilight from Edward's point of view:

Edward deals with jealousy and all that comes with first love because he's never felt it before. He is knocked for a loop, and it takes him a bit of time to learn to deal with these strong emotions as they cause him to grow emotionally/mentally/spiritually. In the books Edward gets a handle on these new emotions a lot sooner than he does in the movies.

Individual characteristics:
When a human becomes a vampire, all of his natural behavior, needs and characteristics are frozen within him forever, though they are also heightened at the same time. From the moment a vampire is made, his interests, dislikes and personality are permanently petrified. For instance, if a human with a loving character becomes a vampire, his or her passion is magnified, allowing him or her to love others even more intensely. Another example is if the human was ambitious and cunning, those characteristics become magnified as a vampire, thus making him a ruthless killer. The only aspect that does change is the vampire's outlook on the world.
