"We"? How many are writing this post?
Why did you watch the show or come to this board?
shareThey came to this board to warn others of substandard, poorly produced programming.
These boards are for CRITICISM. That means GOOD and BAD, it's not a Rosie FAN site. Go look one up if you want to just fawn on your favorite performer.
Rosie was a C to D level standup comedienne, who has made some very good connections in the entertainment industry. That is how careers are made, so I have no complaints there, that's how the system works, and she's working it.
However, typically a lot of horrible programming gets produced from these arrangements, because they are based on prior relationships, and not necessarily on the merits of the programming itself.
So you're going to see a lot of JUNK like "Rosie Live", and we have the right to not only state our negative opinions on that program, but to go further and state that we think the performer (Rosie) is simply coasting on connections (or other resources) and that her output overall has been poor. Which in my opinion it has.
Simple.
OK, fair enough. I thought the show was entertaining. I rarely find fun and entertaining shows on regular TV. I mean even american Idol gets monotonous. As far as Rosie's stand up act, I agree, she wasn't one of my favorites. But Rosie as an entertainer, is. Just like Ellen, the have a lot of energy, and momentum. Very clever, and intuitive. The fact that Rosie, being a big girl, beat the odds of making it in this business says a lot.
shareShe's not going "away", so do yourself, and everyone else a favor... you go gay, I mean away.
