It was never picked up.It was a one time special for God's Sakes. You're all acting as if Rosie's career was falling just because a variety special that aired the day before thanksgiving got bad ratings. There aren't very many people sitting in front of TVs watching variety shows when they're traveling.

You might have a point if it had at least done well in its time slot. It didn't. It was tied with the already-cancelled Pushing Daisies for THIRD in its slot.

And specials -- especially specials with marketable names -- tend to do better than regular shows ... and particularly cancelled shows.

While you can call it a one-off, it was being considered as a series ... and that series has been cancelled.

This was a huge failure for Rosie. It wasn't just a special that got poor ratings -- it was a heavily promoted special. She fell on her face.

Why? Because people dislike her. She has some fans ... but her fanbase has been in decline for years because, frankly, she's an annoying, unlikeable person.

Even when she had a "sizeable" following ... it was for her daytime television show. Not exactly the big leagues of broadcasting.

But I'll agree with you on one point: this special isn't the sign that her career is in decline. It's just confirmation.

She laid an egg. A huge one.

As Executive Producer, Rosie was in charge and approved everything.
Didn't Rosie post on her blog "... hey, I gave it my best shot".
YIKES! If that was her best, I would hate to see her worst.
