Kate Beckinsale in courtroom dramas

Is it just me or has Kate been in more than two courtroom movies before? Seems she has either been arrested or a lawyer in a few.

haha! yes she's been in other films like the ones you mention.
Focusing on this one, if she was so good as a lawyer, shouldn't
she have talked to the other woman in prison first?, or to Lacey's
parents, etc, etc, before making and fool out of herself -again- just
to win that trial, based on certain (too obvious) cheating actions
from the accusers? (And using the little hotel note from the judge
at the hotel? OMG haha!) IMO Kate is a good actress though-
I agree with the ones who say that this "ok film" needed better writing
on some key issues.
What do you think?

I'll let you know what I think in a few hours. I am finally going to watch this. The other Kate courtroom/prison movies have been pretty good, so I look forward to this one.

Yeah, I thought that too. I for one think that Kate is a good actress and I also like to watch 'quiet' movies every now and then. I've seen both courtroom movies of late at the theater, namely 'Nothing but the truth' and 'The trials of Cate McCall'. I liked the first one better though. So I went to the store, bought the bluray, inserted it into the player and realized, I bought the wrong movie!

Instead of 'Nothing but' I bought 'Cate McCall'. Buying a wrong film has never happened to me before, ever. THAT's true testament to how confusingly similar these both movies were in terms of actors, story and production style!
