Margo is obviously much older and mature than her sisters, yet she still

wants a bedtime story for 2-year olds and goodnight kisses. Is she just not as old as she seems, or is she just wierd?

reply

Weird.

I think that she didn't really love the story as much as the younger ones but insisted on it for their sake, surely she knew that THEY loved it.

As for wanting a goodnight kiss and stuff, I don't suppose it's weird that a child who has been living in a orphanage might be desperate for affection, is it?

reply

The other thing that I thought about was unless I missed it. Were they really sisters or just three girls in the orphanage? Each one of them all had three different hair color nor did they look alike.

She didn't have darker skin either, so she still obviously wasn't asian.

''She didn't have darker skin either, so she still obviously wasn't asian.''

''Asian'' is diverse and often used to describe not that closely related groups. Koreans, Japanese, Mongols, Yakuts etc. can be paler than Europeans.

''It's funny cause it seems anybody who has dark, straight hair and whitish skin is considered "Asian".''

When people are using ''Asian'', they are usually thinking of Japanese women (due to the influence of J-Horror?) so that description often fits.

it's a colloquial term; 'asian' is used to describe eastern asians. just like how 'black' doesnt really refer to all africans even though they would be considered so.

"Bitch, I don't know your life!"

"it's a colloquial term". . . not really.

Well, "black" is a color (often, used to describe dark skinned people, like "white" is used to describe pale skinned people) and "Asian" is the adjective form of "Asia" used to describe people from said continent. European, American, African are similar words to Asian, and none of these words have a definitive "look".

Asian is often used to describe East Asians, but also SE Asians and Central Asians! (Malaysia used to run an ad promoting it as "truly Asia" because it had Malays, Chinese, Indians). I don't understand "just like how 'black' doesnt really refer to all africans even though they would be considered so." at all. Black refers to those people who are black. White Africans would still be white and African.

That said, once adopted the girls became sisters!

this.

I think she just wants something "normal". The stereotypical parent reads their children bedtime stories and kisses them before bed. She and the other girls just wanted to be like everyone else. Plus, it's nice to not have to deal with responsibility sometimes. She seems mature for her age, which means she probably didn't have much of a childhood. So, having a child's book read to her probably fills that gap.

I don't think they were sisters, they looked nothing alike and I believe that Agnes was Asian. I think they were just together at Miss Hattie's.

I don't think it was unusual for an orphan who has been denied a normal family upbringing to long for the things she has missed, such as bedtime stories and goodnight kisses.

reply

yeah not sisters and margo took care of them much like that four year old. she might not have loved the kittens book she may have even felt the same way about it as gru but she knew the other two did love it. plus being an orphan the end about the mother that loved them would have gotten to hear the same way it got to gru and he hated it enough that he accidently maliciously destroyed it.

''they looked nothing alike and I believe that Agnes was Asian''

Margo looked like Saori Minami, though. LOL!

Don't be so shallow and harsh =( Margo is an orphan and although she is the oldest of the girls did you ever think that maybe she wants a bedtime story and good night kisses to be shown love from a parental figure? Also it looks like she more than the other girls wants and needs a fatherly figure which she has never had. Don't be so harsh she was very realistic.

She was the oldest of the three and took care of them like a mother would do. That basically means she grew up faster than the others. But she is still a child and it's understandable that someone that is forced to be mature all the time yearns for some time of innocence nd affection. I'd even go to say that she needed it the most.

reply

Yeah, she's a freak.
