Call of Duty - Vietnam

Doesn't anyone want Activision or someone else to make a Call of Duty but this time set in the Vietnam War? I mean they did a great job for jungle warfare in World at War so why not Vietnam? Any takers?

I could not agree more, there is a bounty of stuff they would have to work with. Heli missions, boats going up river, in the Viet Minh's caves. Battle of Ia Drang. There is so much to work with and yet there has still yet to be a really good Vietnam War game, there have been a couple of alright ones but no excellent ones and Call of Duty have the potential to do it.

Lets not forget a whole level dedicated to those brave Tunnel Rats.

Yeah, there's a lot of potential in Vietnam, Tet offensive, Ia Drang valley. Hell, they could make a game based on the Korean War conflict.

Hey yeah i made a post with the same title at the Sandbox and didnt realise there was one here! Thats what i've been thinking for a while- but a really good war game like with the new Cod engiens or whatever it is that makes them so playable. I dont think theyve ever made a good vietnam game (to my knowledge there isnt ANY)!

And for anybody who says it's because of the controversy (was the war necessary? No, obviously) blah blah blah, the point is, the war still happened and its still history, and it would make a badass game. So long as they dont try and make it pro America.

All in all is all we are!

There have been games set during Vietnam before and they were pretty poorly recived.
Mainly due to 2 factors.

1, The setting is just dull.
2, Moralisticaly, the Vietnam "war" was, is and always will be considered a "bullsh!t war". You can't make a good Vietnam game as there is no "good" point to the war.

also they were crappy games. dont forget that. they were poorly made, besides battlefield vietnam

Treyarch should do this for the next one.

i've always wanted a "Call of Duty: Cold War" kind of game. you can go through korea, vietnam, and maybe even as special forces in afghanistan set in the 80s. plus all the guerilla wars around the world such as in south america and africa.

Vietcong was plagued with bugs and issues but really is a great Vietnam game and also one of my favorites of all time. I really hope that Call of Duty 7 is a much improved version of Men of Valor with all the Call of Dutyness that makes the game great. Napalm kill streaks anyone?

Lol just going through my old message board history, how is black ops I and II treating you?

I'd like to see a WW1, Revolutionary War or Civil War game. These are ignored too often.
