How many of you have beaten the game on Veteran difficulty to get the last trophy/achievement? Am I the only one who thinks Treyarch can go *beep* themselves for making it so hard?

I mean, I can hold my own in an online multiplayer match, to say the least (which is the greatest aspect of the game)..but this is just insane. First of all, if you get hit twice, you die..now I can live with that, since it IS the hardest difficulty setting in the game, however if EVERY single enemy soldier is aiming just for you (and they all seem to be the worlds' best snipers, even with an SMG from a considerable distance), while spamming you with grenades non stop, the sht very quickly goes from being hardcore to simply being retarded. On top of that, your teammates are deliberatly programmed to be in your way CONSTANTLY, making sure that if you DO manage to find the luck to get through an enemy stronghold, the next wave will have plenty of time to pick all of you off because some douchebag wont haul ass! And you cant kill the sob's either..

It pisses me off, because I hate to see an unfinished trophy hunt in my list and I wonder what the hell Treyarch were thinking? Maybe they realised they could never EVER top Infinity Wards' Modern Warfare, so they decided to take it out on us. I dont know, what I do know is; I hope they will NEVER touch the CoD franchise again..they should be publicly hanged for what they did to this one.

Wow..really? You must be the smart one back home huh? It's supposed to be a game yes, instead it's more hazardous to my overall health than a smoking habit. Im on 'Burn em out' now..thats not even half of the game, and yet it already shaved off at least 5 years of my life.

And no, I wont chill the *beep* out..this game wont let me.

Haven't tried Veteran on CoD5 (I don't think the game's fun enough)... But yeah. Of course they shouldn't make it IMPOSSIBLE. In CoD4 it was just about right.

The OP had a hissy fit because Treyarch made the game hard. What the hell do you expect on the HARDEST difficulty you can get?!

I don't know if it's just me, but if I'm playing the game on it's hardest mode, I'd *beep* expect it to be hard. VERY hard. So that I feel a sense of accomplishment if I DO complete it.

So my point was...get over it and keep trying, or shut the *beep* up, because complaining like a whiney little bitch is kind of pathetic.

You're a troll not because you have a different opinion, but because you're being a fu cking as shole about it. If you're only fu cking response is going to be "It's just a game" then shut the *beep* up and get off the board. That's 'clearly' not the response the OP was looking for.

Games get frustrating. People, as human beings, need a way to vent their frustration. Some people take games more seriously than others. Gaming is part of the culture now. So get over yourself.

It's understandable for a game to be extremely difficult on the most difficult of settings. But there is a line, there is a point at which a game becomes far too difficult.

And all you're doing is complaining, and for you to just come into this board and bullsh it around like this is extremely pathetic.

First off, why don't y'all just stop pissin' and moanin' at each other, OP, find a friend and play it co-op, it'll be a lot less frustrating for you if you do it deuces style.

Secondly, OP again, instead of getting angry at the game, what I do is I find another game to play, like Oblivion or Fallout, something that I can just roam around in and immerse myself in and calm myself down, then I go back and try it again. If you can't get it right the first time, remember, there's always co-op.

Third and lastly, OTTB, you have a very valid opinion, while it was kinda ridiculous for the OP to go off on a rant saying that he hopes treyarch never touches the CoD franchise, he was just lookin' for a place to vent, I guess a forum, which is built for discussion, was the best place he could find. So next time, be a little more courteous to the OP in a forum, all they're lookin' for is an opinion, not a "chill the *beep* out."

There is only one dude that I've seen on PSN got the platinum trophy, I haven't played veteran myself but if it's as hard as everyone on the board says it is then this feat commands respect IMHO.

You know NOTHING of the crunch, you've never even BEEN to the crunch!!

I'm not terribly good at the game, but thus far I've been breezing through veteran. Chill, take your time, and don't draw more attention to yourself than necessary. The AI actually doesn't zero in on you for no reason.

COD 2 was way harder anyway.

Ok...first i rock an xbox 360...(my opinion its better, but not here to argue). I did beat the game on veteran as well as my friend. Yet there is a difference between a hard game and a retarded game. CoD 4 on veteran was a good challenge..now comes this turd and wham, retarded game. I have to agree with OP the AI in WaW is the dumbest ive ever seen...friendlies and enemies standing next to each other, friendlies shooting walls, infinite nade spamming...needless to say, *beep* got old. Treyarch should die. Infinity Ward is the way to go and I cant wait for modern warfare 2...Note: even IW recognizes the terribleness of Treyarch and removed CoD from the title of modern warfare 2...Treyarch blows!

Yea I cant stand fu**in grenades coming out of nowhere, it fu**in BS. and the damn AI pushes me out of cover. its not as refined as COD4. yea, treyarch should die.

the grenades come out of nowhere when you dont do anything/move for too long, and I think they must make it faster in Veteran. Look at it like this, in a real war, one bullet would seriously effect you. I think they want to make it as tough as real war as possible. Oh, and try doing it with the two of spades active. Then complain.

Think of how the AIs' feel when you play in easy mode :]

i beat it on veteran. some of those missions took me a few hours and cost and a frustrated broken xbox 360 controller. but i did it. feels good man.

I dont trophy hunt, so I cant reall compare and I got the xbox version, but still dont play on vetran. Why cause I coudlnt give a shat its a fps the single players only for when your friends are not over to play split screen, and for me I dont play fps much with out friends. As for 4 vs 5, to me 5 wins, cause well I like the maps the weapons and the gameplay better in five. To me five is the better game and the best fps I am currently playing. (I own, cod 4/5 Unreal tournament 3, Team fortress 2, Halo3)

it is pretty hard... but it's meant to be.. i suppose beating it gives you the sense of accomplishment... besides you can always play the other difficulties such as hardened to have fun with it.. that difficulty is just right

Great, this guy again. Look, i have completed veteran entirely on my own but i didnt get annoyed. U wonna know my secret? I dont actually care about the game. The game is for entertainment purposes, clearly ur not being entertained so if its annoying u then u shouldnt play it. And to say u spent 5 years of ur life on it then u should really get a life and to tell treyarch to die cos u dont think they did the best job on the last difficulty is probably the stupidest thing iv heard in a long time.

@Hazzer182 You are a moron and a douche, I think thats a first.. The op didnt say he spent 5 years trying to finish the game, he said trying the veteran difficulty shaved 5 years off his life. You should learn to read first, comment second..

Personally, I think the OP has a valid point; Yes, veteran difficulty SHOULD be hard, but completing it should be a case of skill, not luck. The latter being the case in WaW.

What did you expect? I'm pretty sure that the Veteran difficulty clearly states on the main menu: "You will not survive."
Why are you worrying about unlocking a trophy? It's not like you're going to get a cheat code or any additional content out of it. If you were talking about games like GoldenEye 007 or Perfect Dark, where that's the very idea, I'd agree, but why are you playing a game on the hardest difficulty if it's too hard for you to play it on? There's no shame in playing the game on the easier difficulties!
If my memory serves me right, there are THREE more to choose from, all easier than Veteran! Veteran difficulty is 100% optional; No one's making you play World At War on Veteran.
You are such a sore loser. You shouldn't be angry at Treyarch for making the hardest difficulty HARD, you should do the smart thing, and NOT PLAY THE GAME ON THE HARDEST DIFFICULTY! It's like going to the screening of a film, and complaining about it being in 3D, even when a 2D version of the same exact film is available at a cheaper price in the room next door.

I get that you're venting your anger, but this is just uncalled for. If you're still frustrated, that's fine, but going on a website like IMDB just to post an article that flat-out states that a game company should "die slow" for making a game hard on the hardest difficulty, is something a Troll or a butt-hurt fanboy of a rival gaming company would do. That, or someone with no life whatsoever that clearly shouldn't play the game, anyway.

There are four difficulties in your typical Call of Duty game, and they basically spell out:

1: Easy.
2: Normal.
3: Hard.
4: You are screwed.

Take your pick!

You can live without a complete achievements list! Just move on to another game, or just play to have fun with this one! That's the point of a game, to have fun! It's not like you are participating in a tournament or something! And leave Modern Warfare out of this discussion; Both games are good in their own way!

I am shocked by the amount of credit any of you crappy gamers have given credit to OP. Let me make this clear: the only reason the OP is frustrated by the game is because he sucks at it. Not only did I beat the game on veteran, I moved through it at a somewhat steady clip. That is not to put my self on a pedestal -- it's just to point out that it is the OP who is flawed, not the game. It was the most awesome on the highest difficulty setting.

Bottom line: OP doesn't deserve last trophy.
