Recently became the PS3 owner and got this game b/c of what I read.

Turn offs:
- Generic anime looks.
- Generic anime themes.
- Generic pretty much everything.
- level grinder (don't matter what you do, you gotta grind levels in order to make your squad stronger.
- Painful in-between repetitive dialogue (how many do I have to listen to maggots, or bro talks every time I go to train or research?
- Is this the reason why BD is so great (hold more data but it still acts like it was made for PS2????)
- Poor AI, GT all over again. No variety. AI pretty much takes the same paths over and over again. It gives a false sense of freedom, but all it comes down to is a simpleton's chess game. If you know how AI will behave, you are pretty much done except for the infrequent dice roles in your disfavor, there is nothing much to do except grind your time and level so you can collect exp and in-game money.
- Pretty silly way to make a turned based game when you get the pseudo real time strategy elements.
- 18 missions? and no down loadable contents.
- Exclusivity needs to be dead. I don't see any reason why this can't be on 360. PC has so many better strategy games out there so no comparison.

Turn ons:
- Generic anime looks.
- Generic anime themes.
- Not much turn based strategy games out there now days so no comparison. This stands on its own.

My life isn't any better than yours.

pretty much everything you mentioned there is exactly opposite to what is in the actual game. either your a Xbox troll, just flaming since you cant get this gem of a game on your mediocre system or you were lied to about what this game was about, so when you played it you realized it wasnt some cheap imitation of the typical fodder that riddles the gaming market and it confused you.

the truth is, this game has a rather unique look to it, its animation, but the visuals are very smooth and refined. as you go throught chapters (missions) youll usually have to go through a battle of sorts (usually given as a scenario), and you gain experience and money from said battle. then you can upgrade your army with said moneys. the story is one of the most engrossing and enchanting stories ive played in a long time (i actually went through this game twice, a rarity for me). this is a turn-based strategy game only on the surface. what you really get is a turn-based action strategy, where you take control of each indiviual unit in a third person view to strategically move them throughout the level. as far as DLC, there are 2 chapters you can download from the PS store, and may be more yet to come out.

and lastly, im totally satisfied that this is ps3 exclusive, because i think the quality would have dipped a bit if they released for both systems. overall, there is very little, if anything, at all wrong with this game. this should be a template for quality of future games.
