Bad structure

A lot has been made of Viola Davis ' performance as Michelle Obama. Another drawback was the structure of each episode. Constantly jumping across time periods was a bad idea. Just as you are getting used to a character or a storyline, the focus moves to another First Lady in another period. Why not devote a single episode to each First Lady? Compare this with The Crown and you can see how well that drama tells the story about a historical figure.
