Unlikely match

I caught just a bit of this movie last night on TV by accident. I was falling asleep and didn't want to start another whole show, so I just left it on.

At the time of this post, I'm not going to check to see the actual ages of the actors, because it's irrelevant to my point, but:

Was it just me, or did Drew's and Justin's characters seem like a very strange pairing? For one thing, she seemed much older than him, or more specifically, he seemed a lot younger than her. He is the perpetual teenager. Secondly, she just seemed out of his league. She's beautiful, and he's just kind of ordinary. I will always view him as either the dorky teenager from Ed, or the stoner "doctor" from Idiocracy. It is a real challenge for me to try to see him as a romantic lead.

they dated in real life, so for me the chemistry was very apparent. even critics who didnt like the movie said they thought the pairing/chemistry saves the movie.

when i first saw Justin Long (well i think i had "seen" him in other things) but the first time I really saw him was in "Waiting" and I did NOT like him as an actor, didnt like the character, didnt find him attractive. And was confused to how he was an actor at all. Then i kept noticing him in things and getting more annoyed. But somehow..gradually....his entire thing just grew on me. I started to find him more charming, better looking, funnier and nicer to watch. While Im still not 100 percent attracted to him, I do find him attractive and I do find him funny. And I actually can see him in a leading romantic role now . But it took awhile for me to see that in him. I think he's just not for everyone. He's not even the typical "Geeky lead" he has a whole different thing you cant put your finger on. But it obviously started working for tons of people because he got very popular and IS the leading guy in lots of movies now and lots of romantic movies. I was surprised when I ended up liking him in "Hes just not that into you" yet again he was playing an A-hole. But the character had a reason for being that way like most people do if they ar truly good people---and I found his romantic ending really cute and endearing with Ginnifer Goodwin.

But I have a feeling if met him in real life I wouldn't be interested. In any real way.
