But no! It's always the cross and Jesus (instead of God) and the Bible.
It's funny seeing this back to back with Priest (AKA Christians Rule The World And Kill Things).
Why? Because this is a Western movie.
You want Eastern style exorcisms? Go watch a Eastern movie.
This is like someone watching a Chinese movie with a Daoist exorcism scene and then whine about how come it can't be a Christian exorcism instead and whine about all the unfair "Daoist stereotyping" in movies.

Have you since seen The Possessed with Jeffrey Dean Morgan, that has a rabbi doing the exorcising? Also, I'm pretty sure the film Mirrors, with Kiefer Sutherland, featured a Jewish exorcism.
shareYou should watch "The Possession of Joel Delaney." It is a very good movie where someone is possessed by a Puerto Rican serial killer. In one interesting scene Joel's sister, Norah, goes to the family of the serial killer and they perform a ceremony using Santería to try to expel the spirit. However, it fails because Norah is a skeptic. But it's still unlike any other exorcism I see in most movies and it's fascinating to watch the two widely different cultures mix.
