Hmmmm..... I hope they're different and this is just coincidence...

Avatar = Ferngully and Pocahontas

Premises and story plots are regurgitated all the time. It's how you deliver it that makes the film.

A Japanese movie (but with 4 kids instead of 2) that had a very similar premise was 'Nobody Knows', which was an excellent movie but with a sad ending. I haven't seen 'Children of Invention', maybe the plot is different....

Thank you SO MUCH! I was looking for this movie I saw once but I didn't have the title, and now with no intention I found it. Thanks!

Yes, I also watched Nobody Knows and thought the same thing. Very good movie, but yes, with a sad ending. Another outstanding foreign movie not related to these is "Turtles Can Fly" a definite must see.

Turtles Can Fly is a very good movie,the first iraqi movie I've seen,and liked. This Children of Invention does sound like a subpar Nobody Knows.

reply

TURTLES CAN FLY is an Iranian movie, not an Iraqi movie.

Yes... nobody knows how to SPELL!

Have you seen the movies you are referring?

reply

That plot summary is very misleading, the kids are only alone for a very small portion of the movie. The movie is just about a small family living in poverty and pyramid schemes.

These movies are hardly similar and neither are their respective plots. You probably think that Superman, Batman and Iron Man are all similar.

Come and get one in the yarbles, if ya have any yarbles...

Hansel and Gretel....perhaps Mommy should have read to you more. This is a common literary archetype.
